6 Things To Do in Winnipeg – Winter Edition. Sav 6 Things To Do in Winnipeg – Winter Edition. Save this reel for reference! Details below ⬇️

@tourismwinnipeg @travelmanitoba #onlyinthepeg #realwinnipeg

1️⃣ Skate along the River Trail

Spanning a total length of 6km, the River Trail is the most popular thing to do in Winnipeg in the winter. The trail is well maintained especially around @theforkswinnipeg and you’ll find fun creative warming huts along the way. Want to try something new? Rent an ice-trike from @kendricksoutdooradventures.

2️⃣ Attend Western Canada’s Largest Winter Festival

@fdvoyageur takes place for 10 days every year in February. Celebrating Canada’s fur-trading past and French heritage and culture, there are so many fun things to experience and enjoy including maple taffy and a glass of caribou.

3️⃣ Get Lost in the World’s Largest Snow Maze

Located about 30 minutes south of Winnipeg at @amazeincorn, the world’s largest snow maze takes about 40 minutes to complete. Inside you’ll find 5 hidden dens all elaborately designed including a movie theatre and a house.

4️⃣ Dine on the Frozen River

For 22 days in January and February, @rawalmondywg invites renowned chefs from across North America to put together a one-of-a-kind tasting menu. Chefs serve anywhere between 5-10 courses in a very intimate setting. I highly recommend purchasing tickets well in advance as it always sells out.

5️⃣ Check out Canada’s tallest indoor waterfall

If you’re looking for a break from the cold, head to @assiniboine_park and visit The Leaf. This newly opened horticultural centre features a variety of biomes, a butterfly garden, and yes Canada’s tallest indoor waterfall.

6️⃣ And lastly, pamper yourself at a Nordic Spa

After all that winter fun, you’ve earned yourself some pampering time. @thermeawinnipeg is a Nordic-style spa that follows a circuit of hot, cold and rest to maximize relaxation. This cycle helps eliminate toxins, release adrenaline, stimulate the immune system and more.
How to Have a Fun-Filled Winter Day in Riding Moun How to Have a Fun-Filled Winter Day in Riding Mountain National Park ❄️ Save this for future reference! Details below ⬇️

@travelmanitoba @clearlakecountry @parkscanada

📍Since the park is so huge, base yourself in the town of Wasagaming.

☕️ Start your day with breakfast at @staylakehouse. Their cosy café serves up a tasty selection that’ll get you fueled up for the adventures ahead.

🏃🏼‍♀️ Next, hit the trails. There are many to choose from in the winter, including the Ominik and Arrowhead Trails, and a variety of ways to enjoy them including snowshoeing, kick sledding, and fat biking.

🚲 Need gear? Head to Friends of Riding Mountain National Park Learning Centre for all your rental needs. This volunteer-led, non-profit organization also offers free programing including cooking traditional bannock over an open fire.

🍻 For dinner, make your way back to The Lakehouse and dine in their private Spruce Hut. Designed to resemble the forest around you, enjoy delicious cocktails and a full dining menu.

🏠 Spend the night in one of the cabins at @geilercorner. Each cabin features a large living room, full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. A perfect place to rest and recount the day’s activities.

A dining experience for the books! This past weeke A dining experience for the books! This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend @rawalmondywg’s final night of 2023. This culinary event runs for 22 days in winter, bringing in renowned chefs from across North America to put on a one-of-kind menu. Guests dine in a pop-up restaurant built right on top of the frozen rivers of Winnipeg and are served anywhere between 5-10 courses. The final night had @chef.billyboi serving up 10 courses that included tempura fried oysters, tuna tataki wild rice, braised beef tongue, and yakitori corn dog. It was incredible. If you’re a foodie, don’t sleep on this event! Runs every year in January-February in Winnipeg.
